Chapter 1 begins with Angel Archer attending a radio-mystic/philosopher's
talk in the bay area. The talk and John Lennon's death that morning
allow PKD to meditate on the 1960's and philosophy in general as
we get to know Angel and her complex life.

One quote on death, I like alot
I am terribly frightened of death . . . destroyer of my friends. It
singled them out and left everyone else undisturbed. Fucking death .
. . . You utilized their folly and prevailed. You took advantage of
foolish people, which is truly unkind.

Chapter 2 dives in with the crux of the story: her relationship to
Bishop Archer and his son, Jeff. It begins with a response letter
to someone who's written an inaccurate eulogy to the Bishop
where we get quite a bit of back-story. Then on to a flashback
of the dinner party where he's introduced to his mistress by Angel.
Funny as hell with a couple different levels of dialogue.

It's off to a roaring start

The writing is clean and moves quickly. You can easily pick up contours
of personality for all the characters. These are real people.

Questions I had:

Is the Episcopal Church a "catholic church" as the Bishop says?
Do they have Jesus on the cross in their church?

Anybody want to take a stab at the origins of FEM?

Cool stuff: I dug the law office name and the accurate argument about what
speaking in tongues meant in Luke/Acts

What did I miss?
