Glenwood Park Town Center
History
Glenwood Ave runs from Grant Park to East Atlanta, almost the entire middle portion used to be industrial: metal works, mineral salvage and manufacturing.
This was centered at Glenwood Ave and the Glenwood connector which links to I-20 and connects Memorial Ave to Glenwood.
The north-east corner of this intersection used to be a Blue Circle cement manufactory
Future
If Green Street is able to pull it off, could look like this:
That bottom street is Glenwood and the top is I-20. The color coding is hard to read:
- YELLOW=Single Family Detached
- PINK=Townhouses
- ORANGE=Multi-Family
- CLAY=Commercial/Office
- BLUE=School
This would create a nice line of retail/restaurant on the way to Moreland Ave and East Atlanta.
Unfortunately the area is only served by Marta bus, but it would provide some much needed office space to the area.
They're planning to begin work fall 2002.
